Printer Friendly Version Foundation of the Serbian-Swiss friendship association “Dr. Archibald Reiss” and the uncover of Dr. Archibald Reiss’ bust in the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Bern @ 1 October 2015 08:29 AM

     On the September 25th, 2015 during the manifestation “Serbian cultural days in Switzerland”  in the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia, it has been unveiled the bust of Dr. A. Reiss, which was created by the academic sculptor Ljubisa Mancic and conserved by the Serbian-Swiss friendship association “Dr. Archibald Reiss”.
     Zvonko Jovanovic, creator and coordinator of the project “Serbian cultural days in Switzerland”, has been elected as the first president of the Serbian-Swiss friendship association “Dr. Archibald Reiss”, Philippe Piccapietra as the honorary president, Grand Chancellor of the Order of St. Lazarus of Jerusalem, and Olivier Ribaux, director of the faculty of forensic science of Lausanne as the honorary vice-president. At the end of the ceremony, the coordinator Zvonko Jovanovic has unveiled Archibald Reiss’ bust, which has been given in custody of the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia until it will be set at the University of Lausanne.
     Ambassador dr. Ljiljana Niksic, chief of the department for migration policy and Diaspora at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, has attended the event and has lectured about the theme “cultural memories of the Great war and the humanitarian missions from abroad” with special focus on the work and the contribution of Dr. Archibald Reiss in spreading the truth about the Serbian victims during WWI.
