The Swiss State Secretariat for Migration (SEM), which functions within the Federal Ministry of Police and Justice, and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) organized, from March 27 to 31, a study visit by representatives of various departments of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia to Bern and Zurich. The visit was prepared as part of the implementation of the Migration Partnership program between Serbia and Switzerland, entitled "Strengthening of capacities and partnerships for migration management in Serbia".


The members of the delegation from Serbia had the opportunity to attend numerous meetings and lectures on the topic of readmission, integration, human trafficking, human smuggling, asylum, etc. in the State Secretariat for Migration, the Federal Administration of Customs and Border Security, the Federal Police, as well as to visit one of the federal centers for asylum seekers. The delegation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia also met with representatives of Swiss NGOs, which deal with providing support to victims of violence, successfully organize round tables aimed at combating human trafficking, and cooperate with the migration service, cantonal police, trade unions, public prosecutor's office, victim support centers violence, labor inspection, cantonal social services and other institutions.


On March 28, the Embassy hosted a cocktail for guests from Serbia and their hosts from SEM and IOM. Ambassador G. Bradić greeted guests, and emphasized the good cooperation between the two countries in various areas, especially within police and judicial cooperation, and pointed out the importance of establishing and nurturing personal contacts between representatives of Serbian and Swiss institutions.
