On Saturday, 24.06.2023, on the central square in Freiburg, the event "Romanian Village", dedicated to Romanian folk costumes, took place third time in a row. The organizer was the "Romanian-Swiss Cultural Association" and the guests, alongside our country, were Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and Slovenia. In the cultural and artistic part, Serbia was represented by the Art Center "Soko" from Basel, while the Consul of the Republic of Serbia in Bern, Predrag Mandić, greeted the attendees on behalf of the Embassy, pointing out the tourism potential of Serbia and the hospitality of its people. This year, Serbia had its own stand where it presented the Serbian national costume, as well as famous personalities originating from Serbia. Thanks to the exhibited brochures of the Tourist organization of Serbia, specially prepared photographs, maps of Serbia and other items from our rich tradition, passers-by could learn that Tesla was a Serb, that Albert Einstein's first wife was a Serbian, as well as remind themselves what Serbia looks like, with Kosovo and Metohija as its integral part. We answered numerous questions and were pleased to note that the willingness of citizens from this part of Switzerland to visit our country is great.
Art Center "Soko" presented itself at this event through two ensembles - an adult singing group consisting of Andrijana Adamović, Natalija Stanković and Milica Milutinović, while the children's singing group was presented by Dijana Jovičić, Mia Petrović, Teodora Panić, Marta and Petra Adamović. The musical accompaniment consisted of Nikola Todorović on the clarinet and his father Dejan on the guitar. Andrijana Adamović, who leads both singing groups of the Art Center "Soko", thrilled the audience with a solo performance of the folk song "Moba prela kod kneza Lazara ".
We are convinced that the good cooperation of our Embassy with the "Romanian-Swiss Cultural Association" will continue in the future, in order to convey the diversity of the cultures of the peoples of Switzerland in the most beautiful way.
