Printer Friendly Version Preparatory meeting for the Panel discussion on blockchain technologies in Serbia and Switzerland 8.9.2023. @ 12 September 2023 11:39 AM

At the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in the Swiss Confederation, on September 8, 2023, Ambassador G. Bradić and Deputy Head of Mission B. Stojanović met with representatives of SSBN (Swiss Serbian Business Network) Marija Srbljin and Nikola Anđelković, as well as the president of the Swiss Association "Home of Blockchain"  A. Brunner (Alexander E. Brunner). The joint organization of a panel discussion on the application of blockchain technologies in Serbia and Switzerland was agreed upon at the meeting. November 30 of this year was set as the date of the Panel.

            A. Bruner pointed out in the conversation that Switzerland is one of the first countries in the world that regulated the application of blockchain technologies in its legislation, and is also one of the world leaders in this field. He assessed that Serbia has an extraordinary base for the development of the mentioned technology, thanks to the results so far in the field of digitization and services in the field of ICT, and that is why he would like to cooperate with our companies, but also with state institutions in this matter.

Among other things, the Embassy representatives conveyed to Bruner and SSBN representatives the information that the State Data Center in Kragujevac received a certificate from one of the German institutions this month, thanks to which its rating was officially confirmed as one of the eight most reliable institutions of its kind in the world. We pointed out that Serbia was the first in the region to adopt a Strategy on Artificial Intelligence, that together with the World Economic Forum (WEF) from Geneva we founded the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Belgrade, that work is being done on the construction of the Bio4Campus in Belgrade, as well as other relevant information.

           The gathering, where around 150 entrepreneurs are expected, mostly from Switzerland, but also a certain number of representatives of companies from Serbia, possibly representatives of the MFA of Switzerland from the Department dealing with the "Digital Democracy" project, will be opened by the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Swiss Confederation, H.E. G. Bradić.

            Association "Home of Blockchain" operates within one of the three most influential economic associations S-GE / Switzerland Global Enterprise, while SSBN gathers around 1,800 members from various economic branches (manufacturing activities, insurance, banking, ICT and other branches).
